Megalomania (noun) • An obsession with doing extravagant or grand things
Announcements/Reminders • Test is November 7th. • This will cover the courtroom terminology, how to write a thesis, and a few other things. • Get missing work turned in and tests taken.

Essays and Personal Pronouns… • Never use “I” • Never use “we,” “us,” “me,” “my,” “our,” “you,” or “your.” • Why? • I think that Hawkeye is a better archer than Katniss. • Hawkeye is a better archer than Katniss.

Plagiarism • It’s illegal and against school rules. But… • What is it? • The act of presenting another person’s ideas or work as your own.
How to Avoid Plagiarism (and going to jail, getting suspended, and other terrible incidents)… • Cite your work. • Don’t copy and paste. • Give credit where credit is due. • If you use something from a previous class, ask BOTH teachers if this is okay, or else you could be plagiarizing yourself! • Better safe than sorry…
Paraphrasing • To put something in your own words. • Do you still have to cite it? YES! It’s someone else’s ideas, so make sure that you cite the source.
