  9. The Basics • Remind Jamaat and MFL event team of the importance of prayer: • Write to Huzur(aba) requesting prayers • Conduct Tahujjud with special emphasis on MFL event • Sent constant reminders to Jamaat of importance of event • Identify those in community who can help impact/influence attendance • ‘vertical’ driven approach • Take full advantage of National Media Team

  10. Vertical Driven Approach • Personally approached and invited members from 4 key verticals in order of priority: • Law Enforcement : (this is the primary focus, Priority 1) • Federal (FBI, TSA, ATF, ICE, CBP, USCIS, Coast Guard, US Marshalls, etc) • Local (Local Police Departments, Sheriff’s Offices, etc) • Public Officials: (Priority 2) • National Officials • State Officials • Local City Officials • Academia:(Priority 3) • Local University professors theology departments • Local High School Principals, Social Studies Teachers • Student Clubs and Organizations • Non-Profit/NGO:(Priority 4) • Human Rights Organizations • Civil Liberties Organizations • Peace Watch Organizations

  11. 1:1 Meetings (a means of invitation) • Reach out to Local Police Departments requesting 1:1 meetings to personally invite the Chief of Police and other members of the department.  Target 50-70 police station visits. • We expect 70% of the attendees came from personal invitation • Prominent guests were invited to be part of the panel • Keep a balanced panel (i.e. representation from all 4 verticals).

  12. Work Closely with City • Invite the Mayor of City where you are hosting the event. Ask Mayor to introduce you and invite  City administrators. • You may explore to have your town declare the day of the conference “Ahmadiyya Mulsim Community Day”

  13. Publicity • Post the event at public event websites, such as radio station calendars, interfaith calendars, and other groups. • Approach Department of Neighborhoods to help spread the word. • Mass emailing to distribution lists, churches, mosques, rotary clubs, etc. • Use attached flier template

  14. Media Outreach • Leverage National Media Team to get media coverage.  Leverage local and National Jamaat spokesperson to do interviews: • Sample TV Interview • http://www.q13fox.com/videobeta/63dc0824-55f5-4e6b-a7b4-70658685c004/News/MUSLIMS-FOR-PEACE • Sample Radio Interviews • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg1UCklRVwE

  15. Day of Event • Printed guest badges ahead of time • Guests came in and we simply handed them their badge (saves a lot of time) • Serve dinner for guests to help drive post-event discussion • Ensure to have at least one Jamaat member seated at each table (no guests left alone)  • For reference, view and study the entire Seattle event: • http://www.seattlechannel.org/videos/video.asp?ID=5211120
