Third-party Virtual Classroom software Communication Center provides tools for collaboration such as a discussion board, shared group pages area, and Virtual Chat. Virtual Chat is an external program which runs locally and provides a chat utility, a whiteboard with slide show abilities, and Q&A history area.
Control Panel is accessible to instructors only. It is the heart of the Course Manager. • Page Editors are the tools for adding and managing all the course content s.t. course information, announcements assignments. • Under Assessment lies quiz generator, assessment tools, and course statistics. • Through Communication Center instructors open new discussions or send email to all or individuals. • In Site Management, users’ site abilities are turned on and off. • Assistance provides information to instructors to access outside information such as BlackBoard manuals and contact persons. • In Services Features, course setup information such enrollment options can be altered.
Assessment tools help to create quizzes or surveys, and they can be graded on the fly.
Using the Resources button, users can access Web resources which is basically an information portal. Here, search tools, headlines, external links to many related areas are presented. Instructors are allowed to customize this page.
