CONDITIONAL TENSE • The Conditional Tense is used to describe actions that would happen. There is an element of doubt. Ex. Juan viajaríasihacebuentiempo. • Different than Future Tense which implies a definite action…WILL happen.
CONDITIONAL TENSE REGULAR VERBS
CONDITIONAL TENSE • Like the Future Tense, the Conditional Tense is a simple tense. It is formed using: INFINITIVE + VERB ENDING • The Conditional Tense also has the same verb endings for all three verb types, -AR, -ER and –IR and… • The Conditional Tense shares the same typical phrases as Future Tense but also may include “if” or “si” in Spanish.

CONDITIONAL TENSE Irregular verbs in the Conditional tense have the SAME endings as Regular verbs. infinitive + -ía infinitive + -ías infinitive + -ía infinitive + -íamos infinitive + -ían
CONDITIONAL TENSE Irregular verbs in the Conditional tense are irregular in the “stem” of the verb, not the ending. 1. hacer= to make/do har + ending Ex. Yoharía. 2. tener= to have tendr + ending Ex. Yotendría. 3. salir= to leave saldr + ending Ex. Yosaldría. 4. querer= to want querr + ending Ex. Yoquerría. 5. venir= to come vendr + ending Ex. Yovendría. 6. poner= to put/place pondr + ending Ex. Yopondría. 7. poder= can/be able podr + ending Ex. Yopodría. 8. decir= to say/tell dir + ending Ex. Yodiría. 9. saber= to know (facts) sabr + ending Ex. Yosabría.
