  2. Pisces • Is the twelfth zodiac sign • Its name is latin plural for fish • Has few bright stars but one beautiful galaxy • The oldest constellation and ranking 14th in size. • 21 main stars in the Pisces constellation • The Sun is in Pisces from February 19 to March 20, depending on the year

  3. Pisces Mythology • In Roman mythology, the fish were Venus and her son Cupid. The two were fleeing from a fire monster known as Typhon. Venus turned herself and her son into fish and they tied themselves together with a rope as they swam so that they would not lose each other.

  4. When the Pisces can be seen best: • Can be easily seen during early Autumn for Northern Hemisphere observers. Riding directly along the ecliptic, this constellation is now the location of the First Point of Aries, the point which the sun crosses the equator on its way north, thus marking the Vernal Equinox or the first day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

  5. Pisces Location: • Located to the south west of Andromeda and directly below the Great Square of Pegasus. First locate the "Circlet" on the western end of the constellation. From there, follow the line of stars marking the Western Fish to Alpha Piscium. Then move up and to the right along the line of stars marking the Eastern Fish.

  8. Scorpio Mythology • In Greek mythology, the Scorpion is believed to have been sent by the goddess Gaia to hunt Orion. When the Scorpion shines – the Orion begins to fade – symbolizing either the retreat or the surrender of the latter.

  9. Scorpio Symbol • The glyph of Scorpio is an M with the final slash pointing skyward with an arrow. The arrow is seen as the tail of the scorpion positioned and ready to strike, or as phallic image, since Scorpio rules the sexual organs.

  10. Scorpio Location • Lying between Libra to the west andSagittarius to the east, Scorpius is alarge constellation in the southernhemisphere near the center of theMilky Way and one of the constellationsof the Zodiac, associated with Scorpio.
