What is a Bike Boulevard • Low-volume streets optimized for bicycle and pedestrian travel • Facilitates interconnectivity among schools, parks and neighborhoods • Street beautification • Safe pedestrian and bicycle crossing at intersections

Elements of Design • “Sharrows” – Shared Lane Markings • Positioning for cyclists outside the door zone • Gives notification to motorists to expect cyclist in lane 7
Roundabouts • Slower traffic speeds • Safer for bicyclists and pedestrians due to the reduction conflict points with vehicles Doubled number of students walking and tripled number of bicycling to school
