Needs of the Sections in the Central Area • Goals: • Increasing participation at events • Increasing opportunities for using membership to make connections for tours and activities • Connecting remote & isolated Members to IEEE • Providing Value to the Members for their Membership • Increasing Member Engagement • Tours and activities • More frequent interaction / participation • Web, Internet • Retaining & Recruiting • Identifying what the Members perceive as Valuable • Value of Membership • Across Generations and Disciplines
Needs of the Sections in the Central Area • Increasing Industry Support • Guidance in approaching businesses for sponsorship of Section/Chapter activities • Easier access to Speakers (?) • Increase awareness of Funding available for activities / projects (?) • Using IEEE-expert online presentations with Members and non-members, guidance in costing and non-IEEE member attendance • Guidance in addressing STEM Education issues
Activities • Many great meetings, tours, presentations, and other activities happening in each individual section • Sections should look at what is working in other Sections, and use this to generate ideas for their own Section • Sections should team/partner with neighboring Sections to advertise activities, and increase Member Engagement • Identify and overcome hurdles to joint activities
