2. Organic agriculture becomes more and more suitable due to the efforts of all the stakeholders for the purpose of having cleaner food and sustainable environment. The total area under organic farming in the EU continues to increase and in 2017 covered 2,6 million hectares of agricultural land. Organic area made up to 7% of total EU agricultural land in 2017 (source: Eurostat 2017)

4. From 2012 to 2017, the total area for organic farming raised from 5,6% to 7% (Eurostat 2017) Romania is still at a very low level with only 1,9% agricultural land used for organic farming (Eurostat 2017) In orchards, organic farming is just at the beginning. Vegetables and small fruits cover the main horticultural crops in Romania.

5. ECOLOGICAL AGRICULTURE IN ROMANIA “Ecological Agriculture”(AE), protected term and attributed by U.E. to Romania, defining this agricultural system, is similar to the terms "organic agriculture" or “biological agriculture" used in other Member States. The role of organic farming is to produce cleaner food, more suited to human metabolism, in full correlation with preservation and adaptation for a clean environment. The main purpose of organic farming is to obtain fresh agricultural products with no harmful residues through processes that respect its nature and ecosystems.

6. NATUREVO ECO The health of consumers of agricultural products through organic farming and a clean environment are the most important benefits of using organic products. Naturevo selects products that are suitable for organic farming and creates Naturevo ECO programs.
