  2. Fire protection • Fire protection training for operations and maintenance staff, Tenant Fire Wardens training , building security training. Al these class’s cover the importance and the technical aspects of your particular building . Don’t wait for an emergency to know your fire plan … Train everyone and be prepared .

  3. Extinguisher Training • Fire extinguisher training is our specialty. Know what to do and when you should evacuate in a fire emergency. • Learn to identify Class “type” of fire . • Learn how you can participate in fire prevention at your work and at home • Know your limitations

Are we prepared? • In case of an emergency are you and your team members prepared for the worst? • Don’t leave anything for the last moment ! • Building specific fire plan training class’s are strongly recommended especially for large facilities with 100 or more people . Remember !!no one is immune to fire !!

  5. What can we do? • Train….. There is no better way to be prepared then to train for an emergency. • No one is safe from unseen dangers… know your emergency procedures and you increase your chances for success. • What can I do to prevent an emergency? • Know what’s safe and what to look for in unsafe conditions it could save your life

  6. How can we be prepared • Up date your fire plan… • Do your daily weekly and monthly inspections. • Practice your fire drills a minimum of 4 times a year • Train all new staff members as soon as they begin work. • Never take safety or prevention lightly.

  7. Who sets the standards? • Ontario Fire Code • Local Fire Officials • Can/ULC • N.F.P.A. • ANSI • DOT”USA”MTO “Ontario” • Insurance companies across Canada.

Can we Train Ourselves? • It is recommend to use an experience Fire Protection Trainer to provide initial training for all involved with the emergency procedures on an annual basis . • All person’s properly trained must practice what they have learned for a period of 1 year then a refresher course is required .

  9. What if we don’t want to train? • Expense is no excuse for lack of training . In Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Laws Stipulate particular employer /employee responsibilities when its concerns fire and life safety training. • Don’t be the one caught by a fire

  10. What is our responsibility as Tenants? • All tenants have the responsibility to know their buildings fire and emergency procedures as stipulated in the Ontario Fire Code … NO ONE IS EXEMPT FROM FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY RESPONSIBILTY!
