Shift Happens Think about the Shift Happens video we saw during the first week of school. What struck you? What skills and habits are our students are missing?
Habits/skills • Verbal instruction: move to hands-on • Pride and ownership of learning • Inquire about learning: inquisitive • Easily distracted • Lack perseverance • Expect things to come easier • Don’t give up • Stress management skills • Motivation: intrinsic (feel good about what you did) • Prior knowledge of skills
