Sharing Talk 2 minutes: • Share the lesson you brought today with someone next to you • Discuss how it could be transformed into a STEM lesson
Habits/skills • Verbal instruction: move to hands-on • Pride and ownership of learning • Inquire about learning: inquisitive • Easily distracted • Lack perseverance • Expect things to come easier • Don’t give up • Stress management skills • Motivation: intrinsic (feel good about what you did) • Prior knowledge of skills
Exemplary STEM activity Today we will participate in a STEM activity. Directions: • Get into groups of 2-3 • Take 3 minutes to brainstorm different ways to complete the challenge. • Sketch your best 3
Use the EDPto construct a Puff-mobileusing only the following materials: 4 Lifesavers 1 Piece of paper 3 Straws 2 Paper clips 50 cm of tape Puff-mobile Challenge You may use less of the materials but not more. After your Puff-mobile is constructed, race it against at least one other team. REMEMBER:You can only blow on the car to make it move. No touching allowed!
Take the Challenge! Once you have your materials, Take 15 minutes to create your Puff Mobile
