  2. At a Glance • Location: Within the Scenic Loop, just before mile 11 at Pine Creek Trailhead • Length: 2 miles round trip • Difficulty: Easy-Moderate; 300 foot elevation gain • Estimated Minimum Hike Time: 1½ hours • Facilities: Two vault toilets at trailhead. No water available.

  4. What’s special about Pine Creek? In the middle of the hike when we turn around we’ll see the foundation of an old homestead. Because of the water, we’ll see ponderosa pines, which are rare in the desert. People have been using Pine Creek for possibly thousands of years!

  6. The beginning is steep. Be careful!

  7. There are some interesting rocks along the way

  8. It’ll be more flat from now on
