Customer Service Objectives • Provide a responsive, consistent, and cost-effective delivery of programming, design, and construction. • Serve as an advocate for modifications to a building or building system and furniture specifications. • Improve the livability of campus buildings and maintain the integrity of building systems. • Enhance customer involvement in the project development and implementation process.
When do you need OCP? • Modifications that affect the structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or security systems of a building, including walls and partitions • Change of space usage (e.g., office to a lab, classroom to a Office) • Modifications requiring coordination with facilities maintenance staff (PPD) • Modifications that affect exiting, exit elements and ADA compliance • Design, installation or removal of equipment connected to building systems (eg. hoods, exhaust fans, water filtration)
When do you need OCP? – Continued • Furniture – new or reconfiguration • Design and specifications - Yes • System furniture changes (eg. Reconfigure or moving partitions) - Yes • Designing new systems furniture applications – Yes • Evaluation of various furniture options for quality and best value – Yes • Ordering a pencil drawer or shelf for existing systems furniture – NO • Ordering a chair – NO (Unless you would like an ergonomic evaluation)

Project Process • Development of Scope, Schedule and Budget • Approval Process • Proceed with Project scope listed • Do not proceed – Cancel Project. • Do not proceed–Re-Evaluate: Budget, Scope, and Schedule • When project is approved schedule will vary based on : • Complexity • Design/Engineering requirements • Construction permitting • Construction duration
