What Does The Word“Hallmark” Mean? • An official mark or stamp indicating a standard of purity • It is used in marking gold or silver by goldsmiths in London • It is used to mark an article, indicating it’s origin, authenticity and quality • It’s a stamp or imprint signifying quality, excellence and accuracy

  3. How Can We Mark OurChildren 99.999% Fine?

  4. How Can We Let Them Know That They Are… • Valued • Quality • An Original • Excellent

  5. Parents, Listen Up! Nobody can love your child like you can!

  10. It is your responsibility! It is the greatest opportunity in your life! To “Hallmark” your child for the glory of God is the Will of God for your life!

We Often Think Of This Verse As Saying… • Raise your kid as God fearing, Church going kids • Have them attempt Sunday School, VBS, Church Camps, etc. • Always make them carry their Bible • Make sure they know the 10 Commandments • Get’em saved as early as possible • Make them say their prayers before they go to bed and before they eat

  13. We Often Think Of This Verse As Saying… Most likely they will sow some wild oats and even rebel, but when they are older (maybe even really old) they’ll come back toJesus Christ…

  14. We Often Think Of This Verse As Saying… “…but only if you raised them right!!!”

  15. Is that what this verseis really saying? Does that bring you much comfort and hope? IT DOESN’T ME!

  16. Proverbs 22:6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

  17. Let’s take a look atthis verse, breaking it down to an expanded Hebrew translation…

  18. “Cultivate a thirst, initiate a hunger, create an appetite for spiritual things in the lives of your children of any age, as long as they are living under your roof...”

  19. “…And do it in the way they are bent, disciplining the disobedience and the evil, while affirming and encouraging the good, the artistic and the beautiful…”

  20. “…As children begin to grow into adults, their paths will be aimed directly toward the Lord, and they will continue to walk in His Sovereignty.”

  21. This Proverb isnot saying if you do “X” I will do “Y”

  22. Raising kids is notan exact science

  23. This proverb is a principle for living

  24. Unfortunately, as long as we live in a sinful world, our best efforts are sometimes met with failure!
