CDBG – What Is It • Federal Formula Grant Program – HUD • Approx $33 Million annually – State to Communities • Allocate award to four program components based on determination of need • Non-Entitlement Communities • Grants are awarded to communities on a competitive basis annually
How it works continued • Applications evaluated on Need; Impact Community Involvement; Feasibility (readiness to proceed) • Applications On – Line in February • Typical awards are between $700K and $900K for single or multiple activity grants • Eligible activities include: Planning; Housing/Commercial rehab; Infrastructure improvements; Construction/Rehab of community facilities; Public Social Services
