  3. HISTORY ShriNarayanasami is a Bachelor of Science from Chennai. His career in Banking began when he joined Union Bank of India as a Probationary Officer in 1969. He has thirty-one years of service at Union Bank of India. He held key responsibilities in Branches, Regional and Zonal offices covering a vast geographical spread.

Cont… • He was promoted from Scale I directly to Scale III in recognition of his contribution to the bank’s growth. • He headed many branches and was Regional and later Zonal Manager covering branches across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. • As General Manager he headed the Bank’s operations at Delhi.

  5. Cont… • He left the bank at the cusp of the millennium on his elevation as Executive Director of Punjab National Bank (PNB). • After four years, he moved further up to become CMD of Andhra Bank in May 2005. • A year later, he took the reins of Indian Overseas Bank.

  6. Success • “Wherever he has worked, he has increased profitability and taken the bank concerned to greater heights,” says M. Venugopalan, CMD of Federal Bank. • Narayanasami is noted for his sharp nose for business opportunities. • PNB was the first bank to network all its branches, and Narayanasami was the moving spirit behind this.

  7. Cont… • Mr. Narayanasami has painstakingly taken several initiatives to expand customer reach through varied strategies. • His hands-on experience and deep insight into banking matters facilitated balanced decision making.
