  2. What is the PRR? • Major accreditation event • 5 years after self study • Retrospective, current, and prospective analysis • Evidence of ongoing compliance with: • Title IV HEOA regulations (see Certification Statement) • Requirements of Affiliation • Standards for Accreditation

  3. Major sections of the PRR • Executive summary • Response to all self study recommendations • Major challenges/opportunities • Enrollment & financial data • Assessment evidence • Planning & budgeting

  4. Peer review procedures • 2 peer reviewers, 1 financial reviewer • Suggestions – collegial advice • Recommendations – improvement advised to remain in compliance • Requirements – institution is out of compliance with 1 or more Standards • Institution has an opportunity to provide a formal response

  5. Possible Commission actions • Reaffirm accreditation • sometimes with commendation • Request follow-up • progress report or monitoring report • Warning • Probation • Postponement

  6. What happened during the 2011 PRR review? • 51 institutions submitted PRRs • 44 affirmed • 18 commendations • 11 progress reports (22% of institutions) • 12 monitoring reports (24% of institutions) • 5 Warnings; 1 Probation; 1 Postponement

  7. Standards requiring the most follow-up • Standard 14: Assessment of Student Learning (76% of follow-up requests) • Standard 7: Institutional Assessment (40% of follow-up requests) • Standard 3: Institutional Resources (24% of follow-up requests) • Standard 8: Student Admissions and Retention (16% of follow-up requests)
