History The UNIVAC was first made on June 14 1951. From 1951 to 1958 they made 46 UNIVAC in total . In 1947, John Mauchly gave the name UNIVAC (universal automatic computer). Univac was made by, J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly
Specification It was 25 feet by 50 feet in length, 5,600 tubes 18,000 crystal diods And 300 relays 2,25 MHz bit rate 1,000 words or 12,000 characters Mercury delay lines Magnetic tape Used for large amounts of output and input

UNIVAC in Modern Times UNIVAC started 50 years ago, and know it is recognized for being the only commercial computer. The UNIVAC really showed off in 1952 when it predicted Dwight Eisenhower's election over Adlai Stevenson
More modern computers have been made over the years The UNIVAC will be recognized because it was the first computer to make man job easier.
