A művészi ábrázolás pontosítása érdekében foglalkozott geometriával, a testek térbeli rövidülésével, az árnyék vetüléssel és a geometria testek felszínének térhálójával. Ezek eredményeit láthatjuk képein, tudományos könyveiben és az általa tervezett betűtípusokban egyaránt.
