  2. Principles of Classroom Management: A Professional Decision-Making Model • To increase the likelihood of bringing about a change in student behaviour, the teacher must first be willing to examine and change his or her own behaviour. (Levin & Nolan, 2016, p. xiii)

  3. If students are successful and enjoy positive relationships with adults, they are generally more interested in school, engaged in learning activities, and interact with their peers and teachers. (Levin & Nolan, 2016, p. xiii)

  4. Detentions, public reprimands, removed privileges, suspensions, calls to parent and failing grades seem to do little to motivate disruptive students toward appropriate behaviour. (Levin & Nolan, 2016, p. xvii)

  5. Don’t compete with your students or assume the full responsibility for their learning. Learning is a dual responsibility. (Levin & Nolan, 2016, p. xxiii)
