HOW IT STARTED • UKLPG approached BTP • Reported an escalating and extensive problem of the theft of gas cylinders • Dangerous situations being created in the storage and exportation of these items in unsafe conditions
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? • Improve understanding of LPG theft • Identify persons & places of interest • Improve cultural understanding within sector of the importance of intelligence collection and reporting
WHAT WE ESTABLISHED • Building on previous intelligence operations identifying that stolen gas cylinders were being exported via container yards in the UK • The BTP identified a container yard in North London.
