  3. What is Aadhar? A series of training videos on various principles of ideal workplace environment An employee communication program focused primarily on uneducated contractual employees, displayed every week at the Works area.

  4. Aadhar, the Foundation Tata Sponge is located in an interior part of Odisha with 80% of the employees belonging to the rural villages. The average education of a workman is 10th pass, which is even lower in the case of around 300 contractual employees who come to the plant everyday to do a variety of jobs. Aadhar was born out of the necessity to raise the awareness level of the contractual employees in various disciplines like Safety, TPM, Environment & Ethics. The training system to be developed had to be interesting, effective, and universally acceptable.

  7. Participation Since the program started in October 2011, the number of attendees has shown a rising trend over the months.

  8. Appreciation The innovative approach of Aadhar was widely applauded by industry leaders & executives during a seminar on Working Together at Puri in January, organized by Tata Steel & attended by around 20 associate companies.

Way Forward Since most of the Contractual employees have been covered under the first phase of training through audio visual presentation the second phase of Training will be rolled out from April, 2012. Foundation has been laid now we will build on it. The first phase included topics on Safety, Ethics, TPM and Environment. The second module will be exclusively dealing with ethical issues in the work place.
