Brazilian Wandering Spider • Their Greek name is Phoneutria, which means “murderess”. That alone should tip you off on how lethal they are. • Their venom contains a neurotoxin which is recorded to be the deadliest till date. • It produces 1.069 mg of venom a day and it takes just a fraction of that amount to kill a human.
Six-Eyed Sand Spider • Also called “assassin” spiders. Their venom won’t kill you, but will cause enough pain that you would wish you were dead. • The venom causes the prey to leak blood from every open pore of their skin. • There is no antivenom found for it yet and no one is sure exactly how toxic their venom is.
Brown Recluse Spider • Do not judge these spiders by their name, as they do not always live in solitude. • The Recluse spider prefers staying borrowed in dark places - under the furniture or amidst piles of books. • Their bite is known to cause retinal failure, fever, vomiting and can eve be fatal.
Funnel-Web Spiders • The Funnel-Web Spider has to be the most notorious member of the arachnid family. • Their venom can be deadly and will cause a series of symptoms to show up in less than 15 minutes. • Symptoms include: numbness of mouth and lips, drooping eyelids, difficulty in breathing, and even falling into a coma.
Red-Back Spider • The Red-Back Spider is just like any other eight-legged critter, except that they like to snack on kids and old people. • Male Redbacksare not as venomous as female spiders. • Their venom can make people sick causing nausea, fever and severe pain.
