  3. History October 3rd, 1921 the first club in Alameda County, California, called to order its first business meeting. Violet Richardson Ward, first president of the first Soroptimist Club

The Purpose of this Award The purpose of this award is to encourage clubs to identify and plan for Soroptimist Orientation and Leadership Training through creative use of programs and projects; to recognize outstanding effectiveness in this area; and to facilitate the sharing of this information. Our top 3 clubs did the following to receive this award this year: • Utilizing Dropbox as the official repository for club documents and provided coaching on how to use Dropbox • A member only Facebook Page – to communicate club meetings & projects • A short presentation at each monthly Business Meeting is put on the agenda • Including SOLT in their club newsletter • Turning Soroptimist facts into a fun game of “Let’s Make A Deal”
