Mission of Department Our mission is to prepare school leaders who demonstrate strategic, instructional, organizational, political and community leadership; and to provide the community a source of scholarship and assistance in interpretation and application of scholarship. Based on NCATE-Approved Curriculum Guidelines for Advanced Programs in Educational Leadership 1995

13. Assessment • Tier IEvery student getting a Tier I credential must provide evidence that they have demonstrated competence in each of the CSPEL’s. • Tier IIEvery student completing Tier II enrolls in EdAd501,completes evidence coversheets, and shows evidence of competence in each of the CSPEL’s

Louise Adler, Ph.D. • Former school board member. • Worked at Cal State Fullerton since 1988 • First tenure-track woman employed by the dept. • Research has focused on the impact of politics on schools. • Co-edited The Politics of Linking Schools and Social Services (1993) and Education as a Basic Industry, Urban Education (1997) • Has published articles on curriculum challenges in the public schools.

17. Ron Oliver, Ph.D. • Former teacher, elementary and middle school principal, and assistant superintendent. • Taught in the political science department for 12 years. • Research agenda focuses on adult learners, organizational theory, and the co-administrators. •  ”A Quest for Relevance: Integrating Theory and Practice Through the Learning Process” Educ. Lead. and Admin. (1999).

18. Linda Orozco, Ph.D. • Administrative experience includes K-12 schools, regional/county education agencies, community college, and private industry. • Educating Diverse Populations and Educational Leadership each include comprehensive web-based instructional materials. • Avid runner, she has completed numerous marathons including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and Athens.

19. Joyce Lee, Ed.D. • Ed.D. in Adult and Organizational Learning, Teachers College, Columbia University. • Employed for the past five years as a central office administrator in northern New Jersey • Research interests include qualitative research, especially collaborative inquiry, technology integration, and professional development. • Co-authored, Collaborative Inquiry in Practice: Action, Reflection, and Making Meaning, published by Sage Publications in the Spring, 2000.
