180-Day Calendar and Waiver FormsTraining Webinar Office of State Aid October 10, 2019
Overview/Agenda 1. Prepare calendar excel spreadsheet available at: https://stateaid.nysed.gov/attendance/htm_docs/attendance_900_990_Hour_Requirement_memo.htm ONLY USE SED-PRODUCED VERSION! 2. Upload files to 180 Day Calendar Form. 3. Complete 180 Day Waiver Form—all districts must complete, even if you are not applying for a waiver. 4. Complete the 180 Day Certification Form.
Key Things to Remember You MUST use the SED-developed spreadsheet. You are submitting the 2018-19 school year calendar, not your planned calendar for 2019-20. Schools that have one institution code but multiple schedules (or span the 900/990 hour requirements) require a spreadsheet tab for each version. Grade levels in cell B5 of the spreadsheet must align with the grades in the school—otherwise data could be overridden by another calendar submission.
Key Things to Remember In cell B5 only list the grades in this format, such K-2, 3-5, 6, 9-12. Do not use extra text. Be sure the Grade Level Group chosen in cell B6 matches the data for the grades listed in cell B5. BOTH the waiver form and the calendar form need to be set to Ready status for the Superintendent to be able to certify. Even if a district is NOT applying for the waiver, they will need to complete Q1 on the waiver form, Save & Ready.
