Typegate • Edit page content • To edit the content of a page, it has to be checked out. • A page only can be checked out by one person at the same time. • After editing the page, it has to be checked in. Edit Page Check in to Share Draft
Typegate • Edit the content of a page • Pages that are not published (for example, after checking in the page) are visible only by authorized persons. All other users can see the last published version of the page. • To make a page visible to all users, it has to be published. Publish
Typegate • Edit the content of a page • If editing a page needs to be canceled, the check out must be discarded. • This will delete all not yet checked-in changes. Page Discard Check Out
Typegate • Typegate Toolbar • If a page is checked out, the typegate toolbar is visible. • The toolbar allows you to select different modes for editing the content and structure of a page. Typegate Toolbar Import XML Edit Structure Structural View Layout view („WYSIWYG“)
Typegate • Layout-View („WYSIWYG“) • WYSIWYG stands for „ What You See Is What You Get“ • In this view, the content can be edited directly on the page. • The impact of changes on the representation are immediately apparent The text can be edited easily clicking on elements such as f.e. images, dates or links will open the picker (see document-view)
Typegate • Layout-View („WYSIWYG“) • Toolbar • On the Layout-view, different functionalities are offered in the toolbar. Undo/ Redo Edit table Subscript / Superscript Bold / italic Hyperlink Column / row insert / delete
Typegate • Structural view • Here the content and the structure of a page can be changed. • Elements are for example titles, overviews, paragraphs, links-lists, headlines, tables, etc. Edit element (see next slide) Expand / collapse element Edit element properties Edit content of an element

Typegate • Structural view • Picker • With the picker, values will set for certain elements . • This includes for example the selection of images, dates or links. • The picker tool is also available in the Layout view („WYSIWYG“) Image selection Date selection
Typegate • XML view • Experienced users can edit a page using the XML view. • With the editor, the content and the structure of a page can be edited. • Buttons • Validate: Here the validity of the XML code will be checked and found errors will be • displayed. • Apply changes: Here the validity • of the XML code will be checked too. If no errors are found, changes are applied and the dialog will be closed. • Cancel • The XML view is particularly useful, if the whole content and structure of a page should be copied and inserted to another page. Typegate • Edit structure („tree-view“) • Using the tree-view, the structure of the page can be changed (not the content) • On the left, the structure of the page is displayed • Nested elements can be expanded or collapsed New elements can be added at dotted fields by using drag and drop • The context menu appears with a right-click on an item, as also shown in the document view Collapse / expand all Tree view
