About the WorkFirst Calculator • The WorkFirst homework calculator is designed to assist you in figuring out participation hours. • The calculator is an Excel based application. • It is found in the WorkFirst handbook and on the SBCTC website. • A paper copy of the calculator should be kept in the student’s file.

  3. Using the WorkFirst Calculator • Hours are calculated based on class hours and homework hours allowed. • Homework can be unsupervised or supervised. • Unsupervised is 1:1. • Maximum study hours allowed is 3 times the credit hours.
