PSAMP WG Status (1/2) • PSAMP Framework;Packet Selector and Packet Information • Content close to complete • Need to resolve all terminology and consistency issues • Need to clarify conformance requirements • Need thorough WG review • Want to start WG Last Call soon
PSAMP WG Status (2/2) • Report Format and Report Stream Format;Export Protocol and Requirements for Collectors • Waiting for IPFIX WG; need to determine if IPFIX solutions can be used by PSAMP WG also • Additional proposals exist • Need to evaluate all proposals, starting next month, and then choose WG baseline documents • Need to phase delivery if specific components, such as filter configuration, will cause documents to be significantly delayed • PSAMP MIB • Need to start this work soon • Need additional authors
Conformance Issues • MUST SUPPORT • At least 1 observation point with 1 selection process • At least 1 of the standard sampling algorithms • Export of the Selector ID of the sampled packet • The PSAMP report format and the PSAMP export protocol • Read-only access to the PSAMP MIB • Export either the hash value or first N bytes of the packet, where minimum N is still TBD by WG • SHOULD SUPPORT • ???; Maybe export of some of the other external fields • MAY SUPPORT • Complex features such as filtering or export of named fields • Read-write access to the PSAMP MIB
