The Shadowing Scheme Imogen Sanders, English SSLC Chair and Academic Affairs VP Elect
What was involved? 2 days of shadowing: • Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Janice Kay attended an informal coffee meeting with my fellow students, a 2 hour dissertation seminar, as well as a one to one coffee meeting with myself. • I attended 3 meetings; Education Dual Assurance, University Student Exchange, Quality Strategy Group.
Behind the closed doors… • Fully briefed before meetings on what each involved, who would attend and what to expect. • Copies of agendas and relevant information supplied before meetings for me to browse. • Questions welcomed during each meeting and any difficult acronyms etc readily explained.
Most importantly… …My views and input welcomed!
Benefits • Broke down barriers, Janice always says hi and smiles now! • SSLC correlations • Equally, what SSLC misses/what is not translated from SSLC up to higher levels • Employability benefits for students and acquiring transferable skills

The future… • Conference with Bath • Who should be involved? • Any changes/issues?
