  8. Sharps Used in the treatment, diagnosis or inoculation of human beings or animals Does not include syringes unless presence of Infectious Agent or Blood

  9. Segregate at the point of generation • Sharps in a sharps container • -Non-infectious waste sharps SmallGenerators • Quantify • ≥50 lbs • -Dispose in solid waste • Treat specimens and cultures • Rule Changes: • Non infectious sharps no longer regulated • Shipping papers no longer required
