M.O.R.E. Details • At East, we are using it to help our “at-risk” kids who have not been identified as having a disability, but are not succeeding in reading. • It’s school wide – the intervention follows the child as needed while at East. • It’s a win-win for the child and the volunteer.
M.O.R.E. Details Each student receives: • 30 minutes of instruction daily • 4 days a week • 1:1 instruction by trained mentors
M.O.R.E. Details at East • Our Dean of Students and Guidance Counselor started Project M.O.R.E. at East in the spring of 2011 with a few students. • It proved to be successful, so it was expanded in 2011-2012. We began the year with 12 kids and ended with 24. • We will begin this year with 29 students!
