A math problem . . . • On March 11, 2011, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck Japan. The epicenter was 43 miles from the coast of Japan. • Tsunami waves travel at about 500 mph. • How much warning time could the coastal cities possibly have? In other words, how long after the earthquake did the tsunami strike the coast?
