Specific educational projectfor gipsy students • IN OUR AREA SOME GIPSY COMMUNITIES ARE PRESENT • KIDS FROM GIPSY FAMILY ARE OFTEN DEALING WITH SCHOOL FAILURE, DUE BOTH TO THE CULTURAL GAP WITH THE SURROUNDING SOCIETY AND TO THE POOR INTEGRATING PROCESS • THESE KIDS NECESSARILY NEED A SPECIFIC TRAINING FOR STUDY DURING THE WHOLE SCHOOL YEAR TO PREVENT EARLY SCHOOL LEAVING (WHICH IS FORMALLY ILLEGAL IN ITALY FOR STUDENTS LESS THAN 16) • THE PROJECT INVOLVES THE FAMILIES: A LEARNING AGREEMENT IS UNDERSIGNED • STUDENTS ARE THEN REQUIRED TO ATTEND SCHOOL EVERYDAY, ESPECIALLY IN THE DAYS IN WHICH SPECIAL LESSONS ARE ARRANGED

GOALS OF THE PROJECT • AT THE END OF THE SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL ACTION, STUDENTS SHOULD CONSOLIDATE COMPETENCES IN: • ITALIAN LANGUAGE • MATHEMATICS • ENGLISH LANGUAGE • THEY SHOULD ALSO BE CAPABLE OF BETTER DEFINING THEIR OWN RESOURCES AND FACE SCHOOL WITH A HIGHER SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY • SOME OF THEM WILL OBTAIN THE DIPLOMA

  4. PLANNED ACTIVITIES • PRIMARY SCHOOL: • 10 HOURS/WEEK • LESSONS OF ITALIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS • 2 HOURS/DAY FOR 5 DAYS/WEEK • SECONDARY SCHOOL: • 9 HOURS/WEEK • LESSONS OF ITALIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICS • 2 HOURS/DAY FOR 6 DAYS/WEEK

  5. HUMAN RESOURCES • TEACHERS COORDINATING THE PROJECT • VOLOUNTEERING TEACHERS FOR THE EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS (RETIRED TEACHERS) • TEACHERS WITH ADDITIONAL TIME AVAILABILITY

PROJECT MONITORING • Constant monitoring of activities • Periodic connection between the teachers involved in THE educational project AND THE REST OF THE team to test the proposed PLAN • PROJECT MONITORING IS AIMED TO: • Prevent potentially critical situations • optimize the actions with regard to the objectives and identified needs • activities ARE REGISTERED ON A LOGBOOK • A FINAL evaluation BY the CLASS coordinator class IS THEN PRODUCED TO measure TEACHING EFFICIENCY

  7. FURTHER OPPORTUNITIES • 15 yearsoldstudents can attendspecificcoursesat the centre for professionaleducation IN TREVISO untilthey are 16 • Topics: • WELLNESS: COSMETICIAN/HAIRDRESSER • FOOD: PASTRY/BAKING • GRAPHIC DESIGNER AND SPECIALISED PRINTING • WOOD CRAFTMANSHIP
