He also made sculptures of figures from his paintings.His wild imagination has influenced several artists.He is famous for painting melting watches and elephants with thin brittle legs. His paintings reflect dreamlike scenes to the bizarre.

  5. Persistence of Memory 1931 24x33cm Oil on canvas Description: this painting has watches that are melting to suggest Einstein’s theory of time being relative and not fixed.The landscape is surreal with a sense of dreamlike symbolism. Ants are symbolic of death.

The phone receiver is chewed off to demonstrate that the people must listen but not speak. The beans show substance. The bat shows ability to find your way in the dark. Umbrella represents protection from nature. When you have absence from nature, you commit horrible crimes against humanity.
