  1. THE FIRST AERODYNAMIC AUTOMOBILE STEM PROJECT GABRIELA CLAUDIA DUPLEA

  2. AUREL PERSU • Aurel Persu (born December 26, 1890, Bucharest - May 5, 1977, Bucharest) was a Romanian engineer, the maker of the world's first advanced aerodynamic car with wheels integrated into the bodywork. • He attended the Berlin-Charlottenburg Technical High School, graduating from the Mechanics Section in 1913, as head of the promotion. • In 1914 he was awarded the German Ministry of Public Instruction for a special study on ship behaviors in outer space.

  3. FIRST AERODYNAMICAUREL PERSU • The invention that made him famous was a "four-wheelaerodynamic car mounted in the aerodynamic shape". • The patent was obtained in Germany on 19 September 1924, the patent application being addressed on 13 November 1922. • After many laboratory calculations and experiments, he came to the conclusion that the ideal shape of a car, a moving vehicle, is the form of a droplet of falling water, the ideal aerodynamic form. • He has reached 0.22 aerodynamic coefficients which are still difficult to reach today. • He built the car in 1922-1924, with his own money, in Germany

  4. 5. WHAT IS AN AERODINAMIC AUTOMOBILE? • Automotive aerodynamics is the study of the aerodynamics of road vehicles. • Its main goals are reducing drag and wind noise, minimizing noise emission, and preventing undesired lift forces and other causes of aerodynamic instability at high speeds. • Air is also considered a fluid in this case. • For some classes of racing vehicles, it may also be important to produce down force to improve traction and thus cornering abilities.

  6. ABOUT AUREL PERSU'S INVENTION • The frictional force of aerodynamic drag increases significantly with vehicle speed. • As early as the 1920s engineers began to consider automobile shape in reducing aerodynamic drag at higher speeds. • By the 1950s German and British automotive engineers were systematically analyzing the effects of automotive drag for the higher performance vehicles.

  7. By the late 1960s scientists also became aware of the significant increase in sound levels emitted by automobiles at high speed. • These effects were understood to increase the intensity of sound levels • Soon highway engineers began to design roadways to consider the speed effects of aerodynamic drag produced sound levels, and automobile manufacturers considered the same factors in vehicle design.

  8. CONCLUSION • IN CONCLUSION,AUREL PERSU’S INVENTION WAS A BENEFIC ONE BECAUSE IT STARTED THE CREATION OF CARS FROM PAST TO PRESENT.
