Solubility Rules/Facts • All common salts of group 1 and Ammonium (NH4+) are soluble • All Nitrates (NO3-) and Acetates (C2H3O2-) • Binary Compounds with Group 7 are except silver, Lead, Mercury • Sulfates except Barium, strontium, calcium, silver, mercury, and lead • Except for Rule 1, carbonates, hydroxides, oxide, sulfide, phosphate are not soluble Fact: If a compound is not soluble then it forms a solid and precipitates.
