What would it mean if these things had not occurred?? • EX: I came to live in Korea in 2001.  • If I hadn’t come, I wouldn’t have met all of you!!! • EX: We haven’t bought a house . • If we had bought a house, we wouldn’t have to move.

  3. Number the Stars • Title • Author • Setting • Characters and Main plot • Rising action (from Mrs. J falls and breaks her ankle) • Climax • Falling action Ending

  4. Number the Stars • Why does Lois Lowry feel this story was important to tell..especially to young adults? • Does the history of Denmark have any similarities to the history of Korea? • Overall, does the book make you feel optimistic or pessimistic about human nature?

  5. Number the Stars Endings • Pretend you are awarding Annemarie a medal for bravery. Make a small medal and present it to her in a short ‘ceremony’! Explain why she deserves a medal for bravery! Be able to describe her achievements. Use at least 1 IF sentence.. • OR • Pretend you are Ellen and you are writing a letter to Annemarie describing how you felt and what happened after you said goodbye, during the walk to the boat, the trip to Sweden and how things are now!
