Regular Verbs • Regular verbs in Spanish are classified according to their “infinitive” ending.In English these verbs are typically preceeded with the word “to”: • “ar” (Caminar) To Walk • “er” (Correr) To Run • “ir” (Vivir) To Live • *The correct conjugation will depend on the identification of the word and its root in order to proceed with the conjugation.

  2. Regular Verbs • ForExample: • Verbsending in “ar” such as: • Hablar • Caminar • Bailar • Nadar • Rogar • Jugar • Nadar • Cocinar • Preguntar

  3. Regular Verbs These will follow a pattern of change once the stem has been identified: Lets take the verb “Bailar” as an example:

  4. Regular Verbs In order to grasp how to conjugate these verbs you must practice! Make a table like the previous one and try identifying the stem in order to conjugate properly. hablar, bailar, buscar, jugar, buscar…

  5. Regular Verbs • Verbswith “er” and “ir” endings: • Correr • Comer • Beber • Volver • Leer • Vivir • Partir • Dormir • Salir • Abrir • Escribir

  6. Regular Verbs • As in “ar” ending verbs, we identify the stem of the word and follow the pattern of change. For example: • Comer

  7. Regular Verbs “Ir” Verbs change in a pattern almos exactly like “er” verbs, except for the “nosotros” and “vosotros” forms. Example: Dormir
