  5. Flat structure • Fewer layers to the structure • Each layer of management has wider span of control • Allows more direct contact with senior management • Can make for speedier communication and decision taking

  6. Matrix structure • Different skill sets are brought together to fulfil each project • Involves people from cross-business functional areas • Highly suitable for the project- based nature of KBR’s work • Gives more autonomy and control over decisions and more individual responsibility
