“ATTITUDE”by Chuck Swindoll The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
“ATTITUDE”by Chuck Swindoll It will make or break a company... a church...a home… The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.
“ATTITUDE”by Chuck Swindoll The only thing we cando is play on the one string we have, andthat is our attitude... I am convinced thatlife is 10% whathappens to me and90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in chargeof our Attitude!
Philippians 4:4Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Philippians 4:8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:11-1311 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
ATTITUDE an internal position or feeling with regard to something else
words used to describe ATTITUDE disposition, feeling, mood, opinion, sentiment, temper, tone, perspective, frame of mind, outlook, viewor morale
pilots use the word “attitude” to describe their horizontal relationship with the runway during landings
if the plane’s attitude isnot properly aligned, it will make contact with the ground at the wrong angle and crash!
Your inward disposition or ‘attitude’ toward people, circumstances or situations determines your final outcome
are you going to land smoothly, or crash? are you a winner or a whiner? are you positive or negative?
“ATTITUDE”by John Maxwell • it’s the “advance man” ofour true selves • it’s roots are inward, butit’s fruit is outward • it’s our best friend orworst enemy • it’s more honest and moreconsistent than our words • it’s our outlook based onpast experiences
“ATTITUDE”by John Maxwell • it draws people to us, orrepels people from us • it is never content until itis expressed • it is the librarian of ourpast • it is the speaker of ourpresent • it is the prophet of ourfuture
the difference between winners and whiners is the attitude they have and the way they respond totheir problems
winnerssee problems as challenges and opportunities that will take them to thenext level
whinerssee problems as threats which undermine their potential to be, to have, and to do more
1 Peter 5:8-98 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
satan wants to knock you off course he’d love to knock you out, but if he can get you in your attitude, he’llbe satisfied
satan is a liar he’s calledthe wicked one, the serpent, the dragon, the devil, the accuser & your adversary
he wants to derail your life he wants to break your spirit he wants you to be messed up on the inside!
Nehemiah 1:1-41 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace, 2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
Nehemiah 1:1-43 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
Nehemiah 1:1-44 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
Nehemiah 1:11O LORD, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.
Nehemiah 2:5And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers' sepulchres, that I may build it.
Nehemiah 2:8And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.
Nehemiah 2:19But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? they laughed at us they despised us they ridiculed us
Nehemiah 4:1-31 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.
Nehemiah 4:1-32 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?
Nehemiah 4:1-33 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.
Nehemiah 2:20Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem. god will prosper us We his servants willarise and build You have no part, no right, no memorial
it’s surprising at how quickly a winning attitude can turn things around
Nehemiah 4:6So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. so we built the wall the people hada mind to work
Nehemiah 4:9Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. we made ourprayer to god we set a watch against them day and night
Nehemiah 4:14And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. Be not afraid of them Remember the lord who is great and terrible Fight for your family
Nehemiah 4:17They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.
2 Corinthians 10:3-53 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Nehemiah 4:20In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.
Nehemiah 4:23So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.
This kind of victorious attitude can radically change things, but you will face intense opposition from the enemy
THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISTRACTED Nehemiah 6:1-21 Now it came to pass when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had builded the wall, and that there was no breach left therein; (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates;)
THE ENEMY WANTS YOU DISTRACTED Nehemiah 6:1-22 That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying, Come, let us meet together in some one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief. The Plain Of “OH-NO!”
