New Policies/Procedure for 2013-2014: College of Graduate Studies • Directed Researches (XXX6918) now graded S/U only • Substitution of required courses with directed researches is prohibited • UCF is unable to grant the same degree twice, even in the case of a degree program with different tracks.

New Policies/Procedure for 2013-2014: CAH Graduate Support • Thesis and Dissertation Approval forms: • Both program director and chair must sign • Form will not be processed unless it is filled out correctly and all other parties have signed. • Students can make appointments with me to get the form processed

  5. GPS, POS, and eForms So….how’d it go?

  6. GPS, POS, and eForms • POS v. GPS: • POS: Program of Study – A listing of course work agreed to by the student and the degree specifying course degree requirements. • GPS: Graduate Plan of Study – An automated degree audit system that will enable students and administrators to plan for and track student’s progress. • When to add the POS to the GPS: • If there are any substitutions, attach a POS to eForm. • If no changes, no POS needed. • NOTE: I highly recommend you update all new/incoming students GPSs with “no changes needed to the GPS”

  7. GPS, POS, and eForms • After eForm changes have been submitted, double check student’s GPS. Not all changes get approved by Grad Studies but they won’t tell you that. • If a requirement area is complete, the system won’t allow for more courses/hours.

  8. Example: Only six hours are required so that is all the box will allow

  9. The only time you may see more hours in a requirement box than allowed is when the final course needed to fulfill the requirement exceeds the remaining hours needed. Meaning, the system won’t split course hours, it will take the whole course.

  10. Beware and Be Aware! • Able to track student thesis/dissertation progress through myUCF > PeopleSoft > Graduate Summary > Academic Progress tab • Graduate Studies staff member who was doing T&D committees is gone so approvals might take longer to process.

  11. B&B Continued • CAH Graduate Admission and Applications are down – Recruit for upcoming year! • New online Grade Change eForm • Graduate course grade changes due to Lynn Hepner until new process is rolled out

  12. Graduate Assistantship Update • As of today…. • 97% of all GAA forms are complete • 83% of ePAFs are complete • Any late GTA’s? Let me know and don’t forget a Late Justification form • Final Deadline for Completing Assistantship Hiring: September 14, 2013

  13. Website • CAH Graduate Support Site: http://graduate.cah.ucf.edu/ • Username and password is now your domain name and password • Username: cah\domain name • Password: Whateveryourdomainpasswordis • Updated all pages and that should show sometime this week
