Why is it Important to Have a Variety of Animal in the Bay ? • It is important to have a variety of living thing in the bay. Oyster they’re important to the bay health. Zooplankton help the bay food chain function. Blue Crab are food source the for bay. My research will show that blue crabs, oyster, and zooplankton are important to the bay
Oyster • Oyster are important to the bay health. Oyster remove Phytoplankton. Also filter the bay. At larva stage they help remove plankton. Without them oyster drills, whelks, starfish wouldn’t have food. Their reefs provide homes for other animal.
Zooplankton • Zooplankton helps the bay food chain function. Zooplankton decrease Phytoplankton. Are food for jellyfish and future fish. Small depend on zooplankton to eat . Also oyster depend on them as food too. In fact the bay food chain.
Blue Crab • Blue Crab are food source to the bay. They're food for humans. The bay is famous because of them. They're important economic item. Last they clean the bottom of of the bay. They are important to striped bass.
Conclusion • In conclusion I learned that the Chesapeake Bay depends on the variety animals. Without the animals the bay wouldn’t be the same. It wouldn’t be the same if oyster didn’t filter bay. Or if a blue crab didn’t do they do. Don’t forget what zooplankton do.
