About Canadian Newsstand • ProQuest product • print & CD-ROM in 2000; online since 2001 • most articles in full-text • Over 300 Canadian & BC newspapers • coverage back to 1970s and1980s for some newspapers • classified sections/paid obituaries are usually not included. Changes Coming for Canadian Newsstand Platform • Faster search capability; cleaner look • MY RESEARCH folder will be a long-term place to store & share results, etc. • Users will be able to add private or public TAGS (via My Research folder) • Search within results & find related articles & citations more easily • Easier to find & save images such as graphs & charts • Timeline slider (like in EBSCO) • Widgets – can be added to library web sites or BLOGs etc. • Ability to search individual databases or subject groupings, if your library has many ProQuest databases • Demo/screenshots of changes to come at: http://www.proquest.com/en-US/promos/feature08_pq.shtml
Implementation of New Platform • Preview will be available for library staff use in December 2010 • Libraries will select migration dates - January to June 2011
