Homework • Binders home and returned daily • Mon.-Thurs. homework recorded in planner/due daily • 20-30 minutes each night should be dedicated to reading • Reading Log & Personal Spelling Word Quiz Sheet due Friday • Initial “Reading” and “Math Facts” on log nightly • Keep all papers in binder • Do only assigned workbook pages
Field Trips & Special Programs(Thanks to our PTA) • Heritage Hill Historical Park Native American Experience – Jan./Feb. • (A letter will be sent home with dates and details) • Music twice each month • Special Assemblies
Helpful Hints at Home • Memorizing facts • Counting money • Reading non-fiction • Following recipes • Telling time • Reading a map
Tips for a Successful Year • Start each day with a nutritious breakfast • Bring a healthy recess snack every day • Monitor TV, video games, and computer activities • Provide a study area and a routine at home • Sleep ten or more hours each night (asleep by 8:00 pm) • Keep children home when ill

ROPES coupons… • Provide students with immediate, frequent, and positive reinforcement • Encourage expected and desired behavior and are used to acknowledge students at Friday Flag Deck
Minor and Major Behavior Reports Minor and Major Behavior Reports are issued to students who demonstrate problem behaviors as a way to reinforce the school-wide expected behaviors (R.O.P.E.S.)
Meadow Park PTA 1st Annual Direct Donation Drive Replaces Gift Wrap Sales – Simple (no work for parents!) fundraising method with proven success at South Lake Middle School and other IUSD elementary schools. 100% of donations go directly to Meadow Park Suggested Donations: $125 (1 student) $150 (2 students) $175 (3 students) $200 (4 students) Any amount is welcome and appreciated ▪ Many employers will match your donation.
