CAMDS, developed by CATARC and CN OEMs, is a testing system for data entry similar to IMDS, with unique data standards. The CAMDS Supplier Alliance shares info and addresses concerns with stakeholders. Critical issues include errors, translation gaps, and dual data entry systems with IMDS. Interfaces and transparency on CN OEM requirements are lacking. Key actions involve testing, evaluation, and overcoming data transfer issues. Ongoing communication is crucial.

CAMDSkey facts • Has been developed by CATARC (China Automotive Technology & Research Center) and several CN OEM • Currently only test system is available – delay of / no date for go live of productive system • Data entry screens of CAMDS is similar to IMDS • CAMDS uses different standard data (basic substances, standard materials) than IMDS • currently no interfaces to other systems (IMDS/ JAMA sheet) • No legal requirement; CN OEM will have to be contacted to get an update on reporting requirement
CAMDSSupplier Alliance • Members are companies coming from Clepa, Japia, AIAG, incl. CN colleagues of these companies (BASF, Bosch, Continental Automotive, Delphi, Denso, JCI, UAES) • Main tasks: • Get an overview about requirements from legal and customer side • Share information and results • Inside the associations • With other „stakeholders“ like JAMA and ACEA • Discuss issues of concern with related parties
CAMDSSupplier Alliance Action items • testing of CAMDS test system • Evaluation of customer requirements • Will possibly change due to delay of CAMDS go live (some of the customers announced to use alternative systems) • Several meetings with CATARC FAQ • Joint IMDS SC / CATARC / Supplier Alliance audio • We approached IMDS SC („please checkreporting requirements of yourCN JV partners“)
CAMDSMost critical issues • Still errors or non translated parts in the system, documentation currently only available in chinese language • 2 different systems with same aim: • Data along the supply chain might be collected in both systems (either / or – or in both parallel) • Assemblies for customers might have sub assembly data in two systems • But: currently no data transfer between IMDS and CAMDS is available • Consequence: rising cost due to redundant data entry? Interface? Intellectual property issues? • Basic substance list in CAMDS isdifferent from IMDS/JAMA sheet • No transparency on CN OEMrequirements
