Question 11: • Debo’s baby cousin Ray-Ray is stuck in a tree 33 feet above the ground. Debo throws a football at Ray-Ray trying to knock him out of the tree. The equation h = –16t2 + 40t + 6 gives the height of the football after t seconds with an initial velocity of 40 ft/sec. • How high can Debo throw the football? 31 feet
Question 12: • Ralph hit a softball into the air with an initial upward velocity of 48 feet per second. The height h in feet of the ball above the ground can be modeled by h = –16t² + 48t + 3, where t is the time in seconds after Ralph hit the softball. • At what time will the softball hit the ground? 3.06 seconds
