Why Do Pool Filters Crack? Why Do Pool Filters Crack?
Pool filters prove as one of an efficient way to clean out the junk from the water. Also, they are widely used by many people in large but somehow, many filters crack and some stay like sta rite pool filter parts. Here are the top reasons why they crack:
Blow- Back If the DE powder is coming into your pool, the reason behind it is you may have torn filter grid fabric.
Other reason could be the standpipe o-ring could is missing, or the filter valve could be allowing some DE to bypass the filter as you add it new.
If there is a leaking drail valve, the threaded cap with an O-ring is not lubricated, and use of Teflon tape is needed on the threads.
There is possibility calcium clogged in. Minerals can clog up pores of the filter grid fabric, and hence slow the flow and raise the filter pressure.
Splits on the ends of the cartridge, because of heavy rubber can be bad news. Some of the cracks can happen with age, others from deadheading or because of preventing the water flow out of the tank.
Except above mentioned reasons one of them can be you are not using good quality filter.
