The Starting Point … • Claire…asked for help (July 303) • TCA made contact within 2 days of referral • Worker presented with a range of complex issues, including issues around accommodation/ family relationships • Request made to SWD for allocation • TCA assessment initiated
The journey continues… • Accommodation arrangements break down, Claire homeless (mid Dec 2003 • Foster placement arranged beginning Jan 2004 • TCA in regular contact with Claire, offering crisis support and advocacy • Placement broken down, no allocated SW (April 2004)
The last few miles… • From bad to worse…accommodated in hostel • Low level of contact with Statutory Workers • TCA encouraged and facilitated contact with parents • Low mood and increase in drinking
Turning the Corner… • Back to Dundee • Move into temporary tenancy • Built bridges • TCA involvement ends….but the journey continues….
Good….
