What do we learn in 8th Grade?? • Safety and Sanitation • Kitchen Basics (Kitchen tools, Measuring, equivalents, abbreviations, and cooking terms) • Quick Breads Reaction Labs • Yeast Breads • Knife Skills and Nutrition • Salsa and Stir Fry • Meal Planning Project • Pasta • Spices-Iron Chef Competition
Grading • 90% Assessments and 10% practice • What counts as an assessment?
What do you need for class?? • Folder with loose leaf paper or a small notebook • Something to write with • Highlighter and a grading pen • Good Atttitude!
